Retailers prefer to use the very American term "Black Friday" rather than "Vendredi noir" in their advertisements.

In Germany, "Black Friday" retailer advertisements refer to "Black Week" and "Black Shopping" in English. Sales last a full week (excluding large Most retail stores are closed on Sundays). During this sales period, the store maintains normal working hours. Although the goods are offered at reduced prices, the price reductions are not much larger than the normal weekly price reductions.
