French companies are slowly introducing the customs of Black Friday to the market. Retail giants such as Apple and Amazon offered discounts of up to 85% in 2014. French e-retailers such as FNAC and Auchan advertise online, and Darty also participates in this annual monster sale. Retailers prefer to use the very American term "Black Friday" rather than "Vendredi noir" in their advertisements.

Germany

In Germany, "Black Friday" retailer advertisements refer to "Black Week" and "Black Shopping" in English. Sales last a full week (excluding large Most retail stores are closed on Sundays). During this sales period, the store maintains normal working hours. Although the goods are offered at reduced prices, the price reductions are not much larger than the normal weekly price reductions. Apple was the first company to hold a special Black Friday event for the German market in 2006.
